Developing muli-threaded applications is harder than developing sequential programs because an object can be manipulated concurrently by multiple threads. This paper paraphrases the concurrency patterns described in [POSA2], including the Producer-Consumer, Active Object, Monitor Object, HalfSync/ Half-Async and Leader/ Followers pattern.
